Lights in the sky, daylight disk
Southwest part of USA, France, and various other locations
1998 and 1899

The sightings covered hear from 1898 and 1899 represent a selection of UFO's that did not take the form of futuristic aircraft. They were seen in widespread locations.

September 4, 1898 - Lille, France:
Through a telescope an astronomer saw a rectangular object with a violet colored band on one side, with the rest being striped black and red. He or she noticed that it was not in a position of any known planet. It was stationary for 10 minutes then spat out sparks and disappeared.

March 2, 1899 - El Paso, Texas:
A luminous object was seen in daylight from 10:00am to 4:00pm. This could not have been Venus because it was two months past its secondary phase of maximum brilliance.

March 8, 1899 - Prescott, Arizona:
An observer saw a luminous object that traveled with the moon all day until 2:00pm. In Tonto, Arizona, a similar object was seen the day before.

October 28, 1899 - Luzarches, France:
At 4:50pm, an observer saw a round luminous object rise above the horizon and shrink in size as it moved into the distance.

November 15, 1899 - Dourite, Dordogne, France:
An object moving like a kite in the southerly sky was seen from 7:00pm. It would be white, then red and sometimes blue.

These reports were made by astronomers and other trained and experienced sky watchers. They were reported in academic or professional journals. These sightings appear to be the real thing.
