United Nations Year of Older Persons
On October 16, 1992 at the 42nd plenary meeting of the General Assembly, the United Nations, proclaimed 1999 as the International Year of Older Persons. The theme of the year is "towards a society for all ages." The United Nations also has a newsletter, Countdown to 1999, which you can reach.
