Many people have attempted to relate the long and complicated history of the internet via many different media. Some have used web-based publishing. Others have made presentations with audio and video. Some of these reports have been successful. Others have failed miserably. We have gone over the internet with a fine-toothed comb in order to find the best of the pages which proport to tell "the complete history of the internet."
"A Brief History of the Internet"
Although the page is entitled "A Brief History of the Internet," it is very extensive.
Compiled by the Internet Society, the organization chartered to oversee the operation/implementation of the internet as we know it.
A History of the Internet
This page gives a timeline divided by year, showing the number of hosts (computers that provide space for web sites so they can be shared across the internet) and backbones (computers that act as bridges between the different hosts) and how they have expanded year after year.

Hobbes' Internet Timeline v3.0
This timeline-oriented page is quite possibly the best that there is. It combines graphics with a timeline of events to give a complete and interesting account of the events that have created and shaped the internet.
