Smoking

SMOKING:
Cigarette smoke is very harmful to a person’s lungs. Cigarette is killing large number of every year. Everyone who smokes damage’s his lungs in one way or the other. Heavy smoking damages the heart and the blood vessels. Cigarette smoke contains three main ingredients. They are nicotine, tar and carbon monoxide.
NICOTINE:
Nicotine is addictive. It causes the release of adrenaline. This increases the rate of heart beat and blood pressure. It makes blood clot easily. Therefore it increases the risk of blood clots blocking blood vessels. If such clots block the coronary arteries, a heart attack may occur or if it occurs in the capillaries of the brain a stroke may result.
Nicotine is a very poisonous substance. It is used in some insecticides. A smoker takes in about 2mg of nicotine for each cigarette that is smoked. The nicotine is absorbed in the blood. About fifteen minutes after smoking the cigarette, half of this nicotine has been broken down, so only 1mg remains in the blood. As nicotine is addictive, once the body get’s use to it can live without it.
