In the seventies, the average yield is 4400t per year, the average fish body length is 26.9cm, the average fish age is 8 years old and every 50kg capture have 136 tails. In the eighties, the average yield is 3,200t and every 50kg capture have 167 tails. In the nineties, the average yield is only 2,263t, the average fish body length is 24.0cm, the average fish age is 5 years old and every 50kg capture have 286 tails. As the result of climate desert of global warming, Qinghai Lake’s ecologic environment is continuing worsen, so far, the number of entry branches reduced from more than 100 to less than 10, due to the dry out and break off of rivers, naked carp’s spawn field shrunk day by day, their colony and group makeup destroyed and adding human’s overhunting, fish resource has declined heavily and Qinghai Lake has no exploration ability

Protect Qinghai Lake’s Naked Carp.
Government of Qinghai province seals the lake to nurture the fish for many years in order to protect the resource of Qinghai Lake of naked carp and maintain the ecological environment in Qinghai Lake. In order to curb the situation of declining of Qinghai Lake fishery resources, the provincial government first time carried out the winter ban in November of 1982 to 1984; in November of 1986 to November 1989, carrying out the winter ban for three-year, In December of 1994 to December of 2000 carried out the winter ban for seven-year, this two times are limiting the hunting; in January of 2001 to December of 2010,on the implementation of Qinghai Lake, a ten-year closure of the lakes fish work education This is the comprehensive ban, to achieve zero-fishing.

As far as I know, in order to protect the ecological environment of Qinghai Lake, Government seals the lake to nurture the fish on one hand and artificial multiplication on one hand, and released them to the Qinghai Lake 10,000 hundreds annually, effective restoring the Qinghai Lake fishery ecological environment.
