Investigation
Divide the students into four groups, who will do different research, classify and discuss what they find in their time. The teachers or parents will go together to ensure their safety.
The first group see about Shoushan stone museums, where they can make themselves acquainted with history of Shoushan stone and Shoushan stone carving.
The second group interview ,Wang Yifan, the director of Fuzhou Shoushan Stone, to find the history of Shoushan stone carving and the products.Tey also have to interview Chen Ji,the secretary of the Party committee, to know how government will carry out the plan of Shoushan stone tourism.
The third group spend their time in Shoushan stone market to find out its sales and development.
The fourth group see surrounding areas to the resources and its prospects.

They will report what they find and come up with another topic: how to make full use of resources to develop economy of Haixi.

By discussing problems about Shoushan stone students has realized its value and know more about it, such as its protection, its mining and so on. They have a desire to share opinions on Shoushan stone with others. In their spare time, they collect information, do research, interview the experts and pay visits to Shoushan stone company.
Students work out the best way to investigate and do research on Shoushan stone exhibition, Shoushan stone culture and Shoushan stone carving.

Shoushan stone is a unique and precious stone, which enjoy a high quality, bright colors and its abundances home and abroad. Shoushan stone carving is well known for its precious raw material, elaborate sculpture and glorious Technicolor, which enjoy reserve value, artistic value and cultural value. Provincial and Municipal Government can make full use of these characters to develop a brand new tourism.
Shoushan stone carving dated back to Nan Dynasty, prospered in Tang and Song Dynasty, developed in Yuan Dynasty and flourish in Qing Dynasty.
In August 1999 and February 2000, Shoushan Stone was crowned as the top six stones in the Chinese National Stone Evaluation. September 2000, the Ministry of Culture officially named Jin’an area as "Chinese Folk Art Shoushan Stone Town" .

Fuzhou government has proposed to establish a clear tourism image of " the ancient capital, Blessed State," . To this end, we recommend that provincial and municipal government departments organized the annual "Shoushan Stone Culture Festival" (as 5,18) to the national and international investment, to expand its influence, as "Shoushan stone culture" to declare the world's outstanding cultural heritage lay a solid basis.
Department of Education, City Board of Education should organize "Shoushan stone culture" into the Campus Awareness Week activities. To prepare "Shoushan Stone Culture " to the cultural heritage of the world we should do a good job in preparing public opinion for good.
Provincial and municipal governments in the relevant departments (Tourism Bureau) should connect Shoushan Stone S tours to Shoushan Stone brand culture. The development of new tourism routes will help boom Hercynian economic development and prosperity throughout the province.

In November 11th Shoushan Stone made its appearance in “San Fang Qi Xiang”, which is reputed
as museum of architecture in Qing Dynasty and shows the history and culture of Fuzhou City. Many famous people used to live there. The inborn art atmosphere attracts many people to come here. That helps create a new legend of Shoushan Stone.
In recent years, tourism has taken off. The government of Jin’an District has built five scenic spots successively, namely Shoushan tourist sites, Rixi eco-tourist sites, Lingtou humanistic resort, Guling summer resorts and Huanxi Pastoral tourist area. Now “The back garden of Fuzhou” has become a ideal place for holidays and entertainment for residents. Every year more than 200,000 tourists come here. Tour for Shousha Stone Culture has turned into a new brand of tourism in Fujian Province.

We suggest that the education department of gorverment organise the Shoushan culture week annually in schools. And in order to enhance public awareness of Shoushan culture, we also suggest that the government organise “Shoushan Stone Culture Festival” and attracte Business and Investment in relevant programs to make the solid foundation for applying work for World Heritage.
