"Don't judge a book by its cover."
The Scene
|
| All the laws in the movie are based on the fact that people 'judge a book by its cover'. Ogres were banished to the forest, giants were forced to work in the fields and elves had to entertain. |
The Moral
An old saying teaches us to never judge a book by its cover. It means that we should never judge a person whether he/she is a good guy or not only by looking from his/her appearance. Somebody who is good-looking, has a good smile and says all the right words might be our enemy, and vice versa. Therefore when we meet someone who we just knew, it is better if we don’t have negative thoughts about that person. We also can't judge anyone by who they are related to. A prince whose father is a mean man, for example, might be a kind person. However, the prince is a different person from his father, so their behavior might be different too. Like in this film, we can see that Ella hated the prince because she thought that he was the same person as his uncle, but the fact is the prince is a great guy once she got to know him.
