Campaign, Funds and Donations

For one month, the members of the organization increased so did the venue of the campaign. Soon, campaigns were held in Malacca and Negeri Sembilan. Our organization received great support. We collected funds to donate to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF).
In the middle of the second month, we built a home in Muar, Johor specially for stray animals called ‘Home Sweet Home’. We started by collecting the stray cats and dogs around Muar. The animals we collected were cleaned up and were sent to the vet.
Then, we put them in the home for the society to care for. People were also encouraged to buy the animals which were as cheap as RM 1.
“So, the campaign is doing great, don’t you think so?” Suraiya sat beside me as I was stroking the cat in the garden.
“Yes, we did get quite a good response. I never thought that this would actually work out.” I replied, still stroking the cat.
My wife held today’s newspaper and smiled as she handed it to me, “Look, Home Sweet Home was on the front page today.”
I took the newspaper from her hand and read the headlines. True, it was the news about the opening ceremony of the ‘Home Sweet Home’.
“Mama! Papa!” Suddenly Hairi was running out of the door. He was holding a ball of yarn and playing with one of our kittens. The cat that I bought gave birth to five cute kittens.
He ran around the garden, pulling the yawn attempted to catch the yawn.
My wife and I laughed watching Hairi enjoying himself. I would never trade anything for this.
