Everyone Should Take Action!
Action!!
A week later, we were off to pre-schools and primary schools to encourage them to save endangered animals. We held small campaigns at our children’s school. There were exhibitions and brochures given out.
We sold bookmarks and juices to the students at the school. The money we collected was used as a capital for the organization we planned to establish. After the government gave us the green light to our proposal on establishing our organization which we called it S.O.S Foundation(S.O.S.Fo).
We created this organization bringing hope to solve this problem with our objective which is:
i) to help the endangered animals around the world
ii) to reduce and stop illegal hunting
iii) to create a harmonious life between humans and animals.
iv) to provide shelter to animals from extinction
My wife called up a few of our friends and family to help join and support this organization. At first we feared that this organization would lack of supports. So, we started by running a campaign in Johor.
Seemed like we were wrong because the whole state was supporting us. We had a lot of activities around Johor. We held activities such as a public speaking competiotion, coulouring contest and on expeditions for all young and old.
This was very surprising to me because I thought that humans don’t care about these endangered animals. But I guess they do. This campaign was a success.
“Why do you love animals so much?” I asked a young boy one day during the campaign.
The boy smiled, “Sir, I came from a broken family. My parents always shout to each other and I was always the one who will feel the pressure. But I have a cat at home. I call him Momo. I always tell my problems to him. He would just listen and let we stroke his fur. That would make me feel better and I like having him around.”
I smiled as he went off skipping happily. I guess that animals play an important role in our lives.
