To be harmonious

It might mean nothing to you, this simple word that pricks the conscious of many. Harmony.

"We are as close as close as a family," What does it indicate about our world?

Are we doing enough to prevent this society from continuing to degenerate into a world of violence, crimes and unhappiness? Ask how we could contribute instead of what people are supposed to do for us.

The reason for world war one, world war two, riots, violence and the ups and downs of history is apparent. There is an obvious lack in harmony, even now, in the world today.
Harmony is a term that can be referred to as an absence of aggression, violence or hostility. It also represents a larger concept where in there are healthy or newly-healed interpersonal or international relationships, safety in matters of social or economic welfare, the acknowledgment of equality and fairness in political relationships and, in world matters, peacetime; a state of being absent of any war or conflict.

Harmony unites thoughts. Whenever there is an air of mutual understanding and conformation of thoughts, it leads to a harmonious environment.

The word harmony is so often used that sometimes the value of the word is neglected. Maintain a harmonious relationship with your friends, uphold and preserve harmony in the world, harmony is important. These are times when the meaning of harmony is put down drastically, so much so that it doesn’t really get notice today.

Here is something that you could learn from, the reflection of our past.

Venturing In-Depth

Going in-depth, we realise that opportunities are present in difficulties.

The turbulence of our history is the perfect example to emphasize the message of the need to preserve harmony in the modern world today. Recall the memories of victims of world war one and two, imagine the fear and suffer our forefathers went through, and finally understand the pain of living in a place that harmony cease to exist.

Nowadays, harmony comes almost as a shock.-Raine, Kathleen Jessie

Our forefathers have paid the price for us and now the future is in our hands. They have done so much to ensure we live in a world of harmony, however, disputes still breaks out, fights still persist and arguments still exist. Living in harmony prevents negative social, economic and psychological impacts.
Without harmony, the world would have been in chaos.

Taking the world war two for example, an estimated of over 60 million died in the war with various economy destroyed. Some psychological impacts include trauma, affecting the ability of people to cope with stress.

In such an irreversible situation, it wasn’t only the casualties that matters the most, however the values and morals of people have to be questioned. Where is humanity? Where is peace? Where is harmony?

This example depicts that harmony is crucial in maintaining peace. If the world does not remain harmonious, a world war 3 is likely to occur. Then on, what is going to happen to the world? There is no need to pen down the consequences, just run through the pictures of violence, cruelty and aggression and you will get the message.

A small action has a huge impact. Doing without harmony isn't fantastic after all.

The Consequences of a Mindless Act

The lack of harmony is prevalent in the society we’re in, with the consequences truly unwanted and undesired, the importance of harmony is once again emphasized, ready to be acknowledge this time.

The lack of harmony between countries result in a highly possible chance of going into a war. This would indicate that the country has to be financially burdened till the last day of war, a way to deplete resources and another to send their own soldiers to death.

The absence of harmony between friends results in a sour relationship, no matter where it inflates from – a dispute, heated argument or a misunderstanding. It is easy to insist that a person is correct, but not an efficient way to settle the problem ultimately.

Harmony involves understanding, communication and respect of people, none can stand alone without the other. Hence, harmony can be the combination of understanding and respect and communication.

A harmonious relationship is appreciated by many; it is one condition that has to be present before a smile may be able to be present on a person’s face. No harmony implies the lack of happiness. The joy comes as things strike a balance and it is a pleasure to enjoy.

Despite the efforts to maintain harmony, strikes and race riots break out causing people to be prejudiced against others of different races during then. Although numerous efforts are spent on educating the young, teens these days show no respect for others, some even hurling hurtful remarks and insults to the other when they get into fights.

The importance of harmony has been emphasised, but is there little to be done?
