My Opinions On The State Of Arts Today

To see how aware people are on the current situation of art and music in the world, and to gather suggestions on what people can do to improve that situation.
We want to hear the feelings of others on how the world could improve its appreciation of art and music.

  • The arts today are simply ignored too much by older people.
But I think they are gaining popularity amongst the younger generation, who seem to be more artistic than before.
Also, our parents are always pushing us to learn more musical instruments and take art lessons... I think the state of arts has improved greatly.

  • To me, art and music was not what it once was. People today are often too busy to actually sit down and appreciate music and art. Many of us have Grade 7 or 8 certificates in piano or music theory but we may only be doing it because we think it'll help our college applications or whatever. Even though music and art is so much more accessible to people, I don't think it is very much appreciated

  • I agree with Jane below in saying that people don't really care about art and music nowadays. But at the same time, a larger range or music and art is being made more accessible to people.
Like Jane has mentioned, art and music can now be seen in a larger range of places and exhibited to a large range of people.
I think people have actually gained a better understanding of art and music today, even though they seem not to care about it too much. But it's only 'seeming'.

  • In our own city, Hong Kong, people are often too rushed and too busy with their own lives to want to do anything else except work and make money.
Culture in our own city, Hong Kong, is vanishing and it's not doing better in other cities either. Culture is totally related to art and music.
Art and music would be in a better situation if they were made more accessible to people for example if we played music in trains while going to work or if we get to see artwork in subways.
