The question we are addressing here is "What role does art or music play in our lives". Our group decided to focus on BOTH art and music as we believe they are equally important, with an equally big impact in our lives.
The main problem that we are focusing on with the question of "What role does art or music play in our lives' is the problem of people often downgrading art and music from a serious yet magical wonder to simple activities one does for leisure. We want to, with this project, show the music and art is accessible to everyone and anyone, as well as show the many roles that art and music play today.
The resources that we will be needing for this project are: a video camera, some computers, an Internet connection, musical instruments (so as to provide our audience with a first hand glimpse at the world of music) and art pieces to show how art is constructed and made today.
The expected outcome of this project is for the general community to realize the importance of art and music in the modern world.
This project may be called irrelevant by some, critics who will say that the importance of art and music pale in comparison to the importance of preventing global warming or finding new energy sources. But these people need to hear our message: that art and music are not just activities done for fun and leisure, or things that we simply enjoy... they are a part of our very identity. They are a part of what makes us human and connects us together. Art and music have shaped our lives and made us into the civilization that we are today.
This project WILL help the world... a world which is becoming increasingly darkened by so much sadness, pain and evil: the financial crisis, the swine flu epidemic, the constant threat of global warming, the increasing use of drugs and alcohol by teenagers...
Art is the answer. Music is the answer. They give us perspective, make us focus on what's most important and crucial to our lives... our very soul, our very heart, our very HUMANITY.
