Ending Hunger is Now Achievable
Did you know that in the past quarter century, food production on the world has doubled, mainly due to the Green Revolution?
During that period, food production increased at annual growth rate of 2.8%. Faster than 2.0% annual population growth.
A few years ago, people who studied the problem of hunger felt that it could be easier to endure but not ended. Now, the world's expert community in widespread agreement that solving hunger now can be ended.
The independent Commission on International Development Issues stated, "Mankind has never before had such ample technical and financial resources for coping with hunger and poverty. The immense task can be tackled once the necessary collective will be mobilized. What is necessary can be done, and must be done."
Fighting World Hunger
Fighting world hunger will require short term but as well as long term solutions and safe. It is important to remember that it isn’t simply a matter of providing food to people in need. But it’s also important that a solution is always with us lead to sustainable development which solves immediate problems without compromising the ability of future generations to access safe and nutritional food.
