Analysis of the questionnaire results

The data statistics of the questionnaire has brought us into deep thought, what can we find out from the data?

  • From question 8 and 9 we can see that compared with before, most families are using much less plastic bags. The average of plastic bags used per day is under 3.

  • From question 10 we can see that one plastic bag can be reused two or three times before being abandoned after the restriction, while only one before. These show that people’s sense of resource-saving and environment-protecting has been improved. That all owes to the restriction.

  • The restriction has been in effect for nearly a year, but due to the formed habits or the inconvenience caused by the restriction, most people prefer to spend a few cents buying a plastic bag rather than take one from home when shopping, and there are fewer people using the environmental-friendly bags.

  • From question 6 we can see that although most people think the restriction makes a little difference to their lives, they can understand and win cope with its operation.

  • From the data showed in the question 5 we can see that the vendors in the vegetable markets are still offering free low-quality plastic bags. The operation of the restriction in flea markets and fruit stands in unsatisfying.
