Q: Do you have any pet?
A: I had, but not now.
Q: Then Madam, you must have something in your mind regarding pets. Well you kindly enrich us with your experience?
A: Pets are really very dear to me. But keeping pet needs space, sufficient time and investment. I had a dog and a cat which were my best accompany when I was a kid. I was taking every care to keep them healthy and clean. I remember, they had given me immense pleasure while I was at home. But gradually I become unable to spare sufficient attention to them and they use to roam outside my campus during my absence. In fact, I had to totally ignore them when I got married. Now, they are out of my picture.
Q: So do you think animals are a burden for us?
A: No, I don't think that. Infact we are a burden for them. We harm them and make them our slaves only because they can't speak, but this is wrong. On the contrary, I can say that animals can be our best companions as they understand our feelings more than anyone else.
Q: What can the you, the public and the government do to prevent animal cruelty?
A: Myself as a teacher I have decided to give lessons to my students on compassion. And as public, we can join hands with the various NGOs coming up. The govt. can provide financial help to these NGOs for their betterment. It is high time for us to realise that animals need our support. The govt. can also promote certain activities among the youth and we must join our hands with it.
