- 1.The Merdeka Square is situated in the centre of the city
- 2.It is the place where the Malayan Flag was hoisted on August 31,1957 signifying the independence of the country from the British rule
- 3.In the center of it, there’s a field called Padang
- 4.The most historical and attractive building at the Merdeka Square is, the Sultan Abdul Samad Building which are situated near the Padang field
- 5.It’s was constructed in 1897 and designed by a British architect, A.C. Norman
- 6.The appearance of the building show the background cultural of Malaysia
- 7.One of the attraction there was the 41m clock tower which was situated on the Sultan Abdul Samad building in the Merdeka Square
