Saticoy Elementary is a high poverty school, so we don't all have new computers at home with high speed internet or fancy cameras. Still, in the classroom we have everything we need: digital cameras, laptops, recorders, and best of all ThinkQuest. Yet, all of us come from different backgrounds and cultures.
Brian's mom and dad are from Mexico, but he was born in Santa Barbara. Although he was born in California he grew up speaking Spanish so he was taught to speak English. Brian has a old computer at home, but it usaully doesn't work so he does most of his work at school and at home. Brian is very good at doing all his assignments and work done by just doing it at home or doing it with friends.
Kai does have a coomputer at home, but likes to work so much that he gets almost all of it done in school. Kai's Mom, however, was born in Finland so he grew up speaking Finnsh and English.
Amia has a computer that works and when she does her work in school she always does more at home. Her mom was born in Carlsbad Ca, but Amia was born in Las Vegas. Many of us have different backgrounds and beliefs, but we are all unique and different in many ways!
