“Come to Xunhua, Enjoy Xunhua” Syllabus

1、The teaching objectives of this project:

To help students learn more about Xunhua folk customs, everyday life, tourism culture, religious beliefs, etc., through active participation. Also to learn about the great change in Xunhua after the reform and opening policies.

3、Steps for undertaking the main activities

(1)、We organized the students to participate in a trip to Xunhua’s MengDa Heavenly Lake, to experience the beauty of nature and enjoy the development of the local tourism.
(2)、We combined with some hand-in-hand local partner schools and became hand-in-hand friends. We all studies together and enjoyed living together and learning about the development of the local education, and getting to know how the local government attaches importance to minority education and care for the Salar peoples’ normal life.
(3)、Finally, we invited some local citizens to give us an introduction to the history of the development of the Salar people, explaining the differences between the previous and afterward times in regard to the open policies. We learned much about traditional culture.

4、Website Structure

1、Tourism Resources:
(1)、Site visit - Organize students to see beautiful MengDa Heavenly Lake and investigate the change in local tourism development.
(2)、Take pictures – Demonstrate the beautiful scenery of Xunhua.
(3)、Write a report of the experience – Exchange feelings about the experience.
2、Folk customs and everyday life:
(1)、Interview and investigation – Interview the local citizens to receive and introduction to Salar history, learning about local culture, folk customs and everyday life.
(2)、Write an investigation report and discuss.
3、Everyday life (food and housing):
(1)、Participate in a Salar family with children to learn about the Salar diet and food culture.
(2)、Take students on a trip to local Salar-owned businesses to learn about them.
