Education for Hui girls after Reformation
Introduction
Today, I came to the Changqing Primary School with the team, and also interviewed principal Wang. Principal Wang told us Changqing Primary School used to be called as Shulinxiang Primary School. The environment was quite awful before. The road to school was very bad, quite dusty in sunny days, but very muddy in raining days. Government paid to improve the environment in recent years , they renewed building, dusty playground was changed to be plastic cement playground. The beautiful environment also changed the students and local people. They also pay more attention to protect the environment. Shulinxiang Primary School changed the name to be Changqing Primary School formally. The principal said: “I believe the future of Changqing Primary School will be even much better.”

Team member (TM): Would you please tell us if Changqing Primary School accepted allowance or support from goverment in the reconstruction?
Principal Wang: Yes. We accepted the allowance.
TM: As we know here are lots of excellent teachers and students, would you please give us some examples?
Wang: Ok. Yan Jinhai is an excellent teacher.
TM: Can you introduce the teaching equipment for us?
Wang: Sure. We have lab, Audio classroom …
TM: Thank you for your support, Mr Wang.
Investigation Report
I know much more about the situation of education of Hui people in the past and nowadays though almost 2 weeks interviews and material checking. The following is my reports:
History is witness of the tuff old days for Hui girl to accept education. Example in 1920, Two primary schools set up to improve the education for Hui people, but the situation didn’t have a big change. School was a forbidden place for Hui girls. In 1929, a school for Hui girls set up but soon changed to be a boy school, because the leader of mosques againsted it strongly. We may see how hard for Hui girls to enter school in the past!
Finally, in 1942, Dongguan Huizu Nvzi School set up to give the rights back to the girls to accept education. A noble character and high prestige leader of Dongguan mosque was invited to tell how important for Hui girl to be educated to their parents. Then the situation has been improved a lot. We have a good leadership who pay lots attention to Hui girls about their education and we have good policy. I believe the future of Hui children is not a dream, the future of the east district is also not a dream!
