Interview
Interview to a Psychologist
Bernardita García: Psychologist graduated from the Catholic University, Chile.
How is distrust caused?
Distrust is caused by the sensation that the other one, or other country in this case can threat you or your country in any minute. It is the sensation of being unprotected all the time, so you are constantly in “alert”.
A distrustful person tends to suspect of the attitudes or physical characteristics of the other ones, like if he/she doesn’t looks you in the eyes at the time of speaking, if she/he has a strange language, etc… All this makes you doubt about the others’ intention.
What other feelings were produced in people as a consequence of wars?
Individualism, moral disorders because of the violence of wars, and also made the human being more instinctive, in other words, acting more like an animal to survive than a real human being.
