teachers and students using technology
Teachers of the future
As in every activity, an important group of teachers lived the arrival of the technology to the schools as a threat, or one additional charge of preoccupations. This is why they do not connect themselves with the world of opportunities that these technologies offer to improve the learning. Professors can make an interactive visit to the Louvre museum with their students, or cross the sanguineous system transforming themselves into white globules
As a result of the this, it is very probable that the roll of the professor in the modern society could change, from its present roll of transmitter of a certain encyclopedic knowledge to being a helper or a guide of a process of learning.
Basics for children
Teachers often comment, "My children don't need computers. They need the basics." In reality, computers and their accompanying applications, as well as other technologies, are the basics for children whether they are disabled or not. Schools are not just "getting children ready" for technology use at some later date. Children, even preschoolers with disabilities, can and are using technology now and they are connecting. As David Thornburg reminds us, "we are preparing children for their future, not our own past" (1996).
