MAIN PROBLEM (Part 1)
1. Why do many people think that history is only a past to be forgotten?
Almost everyone especially in Indonesia, do not care about anything that is related with history. Students in Indonesia study history just for the sake of their school reports. Most of them do not care what history is actually for, and why they are learning it. This proves that too many people especially Indonesians do not care about their history which had made this life’s evolution keep going from time to time. Even our past times in our life is a part of history, and in fact, it is a history itself.
This carelessness has become a problem to our generation which will continue to struggle and fight for our each own beloved country. Our countries can still be standing because of the history we own. From different history, people try to develop a better generation for a better world. Even Ir. Soekarno mentioned in his speech called “JAS MERAH”, that we should never forget history. It means he is sending us a message so we can keep our history and never forget it.
MAIN PROBLEM (Part 2)
It is very concerning to see Indonesia now, as a new generation we should really try to grow some ‘care’ deep into our hearts for our own country, for the future our country holds and what’s ahead of us.
If this continues, everything can fall apart, and our beloved country can be torn. It is for sure, that one of the supporting factors for a country to be able to be developed is its history itself.
For example, like the country Japan which rose back after they experienced the bombing in their city Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The bombing was done by the US, but because of the tragedy, Japan became a country that develops even quicker. And as we all can see now, Japan is now leading in the aspect of Technology. They learn and took the lessons from their histories, and even from their horrible tragedies, they took the lesson positively.
We should all believe that every other country along with its people should be able to do the same thing. We should sharpen up our awareness and see that history takes a big part of our life.
In conclusion, the main problem is the lack of our awareness and care for history and the past. The main problem is us, as the new generation we should be sharper and hear the silent whispers of our silent teacher.
