Sibiu is a city located in Romania and at the same time it can pride itself with the title of the largest city in the Transylvania region. It’s population is 175.000 citizens. The common abbreviation for Sibiu is SB. This town is crossed by the river Cibin, which is a tributary of the river Olt. The city lies at a distance of 282 km from the capital, Bucharest and was the capital of Principality of Transylvania between the years 1692 and 1790. The city is well known because of its cultural richness and its diversity in religions. Sibiu was named in 2007 together with Luxemburg European Capital of Culture.
