At today,water has becomed a topic among the masses.And it is one of the resources which is shortage is protected by our.70% of the earth's surface covered by water,but fresh water resources occupy only 2.5 percent.Nearly 70% of the freshwater doesn't be used by people which is fixed in the Antarctic and Greenland ice, and the rest for the soil moisture or deep groundwater, Less than 1% of fresh water or about 0.007 percent of water is directly used by human,but chinese per capita fresh water resources occupy a quarter of the world's total freshwater resources per capita.
On the earth reservoir of water is very rich which is as many as 1.45 billion cubic meters.But less can be used.Firstly,because water is bitter and salty,it is not suitable for drinking, pouring and being difficult for industrial.87% of fresh water resources is difficult to use.Not only the world's fresh water resources is shortage but also it's distribution is unbalanced.Many countries including Brazil, Russia, Canada, China, the United States, Indonesia, India, Colombia and the Congo and other nine countries account for 60 percent of freshwater resources. It is about 1.5 billion people who is shortage of warter,moreover about 0.3 billion is extreme shortage.Even more frightening is that 30 million people will face to water shortages and 40 countries and regions have a serious shortage of fresh water in 2025.

Status of chinese water resources:
Chinese total water resources is 2.8 billion cubic meter which include 2.7 billion cubic meter Surface water and 0.83 billion cubic meter groundwater.In accordance with internationally accepted standards,in China, at present ,there are 16 provinces(district\city) less than a serious lacking of water lines in per capita water resources (not including the transit of water) ;There are six provinces, autonomous regions (Ningxia, Hebei, Shandong, Henan, Shanxi, Jiangsu) per capita is less than 500 cubic meters of water resources.The total water resources in China isn't much ranked No. 6 in the world.Per capita is less about 2240 cubic meters ranked No. 88 in 153 countries counted by world bank.
Distribution of water resources in China is very uneven,Yangtze River basin and its south area account for 81% which country's land area accounts for only 36.5%;The north area only take up 19% which country's land area accounts for 63.5%.In all,we know that the situation is grim so we must protect it.
