Traditional Vocal Group
Celempungan is traditional art, which is there is a singer called Juru Kawih sing a classic salendro songs or a new record song with instument from Kecapi Salendro, Rebab, Kendang, and Goong.
Sound that produce from those traditional instrument and the voice of the singer are unique. That is the reason why Celempungan is so special and different from the other.
Traditional Orchestra
Degung is one of traditional art sunda karawitan that use gamelan harmony degung instrument (harmony pelog). The old songs of art degung are Pajajaran, Lambang, Bima mobos, etc. But this day appear songs degung wanda anyar which basic from song composition like catrik, kulu-kulu, sinyur, banjaran, and many more. The songs are Anjeun (mandiri), Asa Tos Tepang (catrik), etc.
Degung or gamelan consist of Bonang, Saron, Kendang, Jenglong, and Goong. if those musical instrument played together, it will produce a beautiful sound. Degung always remind us to the oldtime of Sunda.
In Degung, we're not only study to learn the instrument but we also study how to play together, how to listen each other, and how to lead and be leaded. Many moral value that we can take from Degung.
Bamboo Instrument, Angklung
Angklung is one of traditional art instrument in Bandung. It made from Bamboo. We play it by shaking it and it will produce an unique voice. We need many players to play a song by angklung. Each player will take a different tone of angklung. Their combination will make an awesome music to hear.
Now, angklung has became the most favorite traditional instrument. Why? Because it easy to play, and it nice to hear the sound that produce from it. But it also has a lack, which is angklung need many people.
In west java, angklung has became the traditional instrument icon. People all around Indonesia or maybe the world know west java from angklung. For many years, people of west java, sundanese, has inroduced this shaking instrument to the world.
