Bandung has so many traditional art, such as Angklung, Art of Traditional Poetry, and many more. Not only traditional art, Bandung also has modern art such painting, theater, music and many more. If you visit Bandung, please try to go to Braga street. This street has already famous since Asia-Africa Conference in 1955. Braga street has a historical memory, you can see many historical building. in this street you can also see a lot of artist. they sell their painting along the street. those painting are really beautiful. Braga isn't the only one, Bandung also has other place like Braga.
The most unique Art in Bandung are the traditional arts. I promise that you won't see any art like this in other place in the world. Unique, isn't it?

Wayang the Wood Doll
Wayang golek is a kind of Puppet Show played by some dolls made out of wood. A person who directs plays wayang golek is called dalang. Wayang golek is played based on stories from Hinduism era long time ago like Ramayana story, Mahabrata story, and many more. Wayang golek is performed in a television show, wedding party, circumcision, birthday party, country society, etc.
Wayang Golek has many characters. They are Cepot, Gareng, Semar, Petruk and others. Cepot is the most famous among others because he is funny.
Benjang
Benjang comes from Ujung Berung. It divided into three part, which are Benjang Helaran, Topeng Benjang, and Benjang Gulat.
Benjang helaran is a parade which perfomed by child whom will be circumcision. It based on Islam religion and some myth.
Topeng benjang held in the end of benjang helaran. It is a mask dance with many different characters.
Benjang gulat is just like a fight. Gulat means fight in English. But its just for sport and art, not a real fight. It also has some rules.
Traditional Poetry
Traditional poetry in Bandung is Pantun. It using Sundanese language. It tells about some stories. Pantun has its own rhythm that makes pantun different from other poetry.
And person who read it called Juru Pantun. Juru Pantun read pantun with accompanied by kacapi instrument. Those pantun tell about myth, kingdom, history, etc.
In several place, people make a kind of pantun tournament. The Tournament is like this, Juru Pantun read a pantun and another Juru Pantun also read another pantun, but the second pantun read to against the first pantun. We think it's look like debate with pantun
