Review of Jue

After more than a month's research of this topic, I have my own views on urban poverty.
It is hard to believe that I almost knew nothing about the problem before. The whole process shook us up a lot. We started with the problem of hunger. Facing the shocking photos displayed on the computer screen, we felt horrible. It looked as if people were dying of starvation when we were discussing the problem. After that, we were amazed at a series of chilling numbers. During the social survey, we visited some poor families. Their low standard of living was really beyond my imagination. Talking to them, I felt so sorry and oppressive.
Maybe just because of such deep sympathy, we were firmly determined to focus on this research topic. Although we met some difficulties during our work, for example, some people just held an indifferent attitude forwards us or even rejected our interview. We knew it was not worth mentioning when compared with the difficulties that the poor had to face in their daily life. Looking at the miserable life that our photos had show us, we know the problem never far away from us. We felt it our responsibility to find ways to solve it.
In addition, I have learned to put my ideas into practice when taking part in the competition. This capability can never been developed from my textbooks. Now I can do much better in communicating with people, cooperating with my team members, pattering information or materials in various ways and expressing myself correctly, etc.
As the society research of the topic is coming to an end, I think this experience will become a new starting point for further progress. I will care about society, our life, and everyone around me, especially those weak voices. I will do my best to help them.

Review of Hongyue

I have known more about urban poverty since I took part in the competition. What is more, I benefit a lot from the research work.
In the "Experience of Hunger and Poverty" part, I realized how hard life could be as poor people for the first time in my life. I believe but for this experience, possibly I would never know what "hungry" means. Of course I also understand how important financial management is in our daily life, which means living a comfortable life with the least money. It could be very helpful for poor citizens.
Meanwhile, I worked as a reporter in the social survey, which I had never expected before. Before the survey, I gathered a lot of information about how to hold an interview from an internet. Later I shared it with my team members. Learning to make plans for an interview for the first time, I found it a complicated job. It was quite difficult to make people give answers that I needed to get from them. The process went on smoothly. After careful preparations, the first interview proved to be a great success. We got enough useful information and managed to make better preparations for the following steps.
How to express myself in fluent English remained another big problem. At the beginning, I just made stupid mistakes in talking to people or writing in English, but I was able to correctly express myself in clear English after days of hard work. And I used to know little about photography, while with the teacher's help, I learned to take photos which made people satisfied.
In a short word, I have learned a lot from this activity. There is much work to do. The tasks we face are arduous and formidable, and the responsibilities we bear are great. Under the leadership of our government, we young people will boldly meet challenges and make new achievements for our country.

Review of ChengMing

I gain a lot from this competition. After the one-month’s investigation and study, I have a new social awareness to the problem of poverty.
The information I got and the exclusive interview I made were impossible to be obtained from the textbooks. Although I got the experience of life in general group, the "one-day experience of poverty" left me deeply appreciating the ups and downs of life. Especially when I saw the companions in the difficult situation. That day, I truly understood how difficult it was for them to feed themselves! I am proud of our parents! Because they suffer from the pressure we do not know! Then I learned more life skills, such as shopping in economical way, financial management, and even cooking and so on. I believe that will help me in future.

Review of Shuangxing

First contact with the topic of poverty, it seems so strange to me, as if the poor were far away from us. It seems that only in remote rural areas of China has it. However, after more than a month of investigation and research, I found that urban poverty is not only far away from us, but also in our side very close to us.
In experience in aspects of poverty, through I am lucky to become a member of the general group to 35 Yuan / day. Such a standard never exits in my life before. On that day, together with the group of students enjoying the "luxury" of breakfast, lunch and also went to the supermarket to buy much material for dinner, a hand-production dinner, and invited groups of students in poverty to share with us. In that day, I earn the experience not only fun, but also a lot of knowledge about financial. And more important I feel the hardships of life, it is easy to spend money but difficult to make money.
In the activities of investigation, I am responsible for the task of interviews which include the investigation of the community and work of the assistance to the poor. In order to be able to do a comprehensive interview, before interview, through the Internet, I learn about the community and the work of Charity. I also learn some skills of the interview in advance. During the survey, I had an interview with keen interest. I hope that I will have the opportunity to continue the previous development.
At last, I investigated various policies and measures of the Chinese government for addressing urban poverty. I think that the Chinese government's aid policy should be strengthened to choose targets, to set out more detailed standards. Provide them with the opportunity to work so that fundamentally could let them out of poverty, and to have a prosperous life.

Hunger is not the poor people problem, but our problem. Each year many children below five, even parents died because of hunger. I want the government efforts to overcome the poverty in the world is more optimal. For example, we can increase the amount of tax which we use to create new and more employments that can hit the maximum level of hunger. I hope, this way the governments in the world can overcome the world hunger.
