Status Quo of the Preservation of the Changbai Mountain Natural Resources.
Nowadays, there are some problems in respect of natural resource protection for Changbai Mountain. For example, we see that the plank roads built on the North Slope have covered part of vegetation; log cabins are built on the tundra zone which is a very thin layer yet it took at least a thousand years’ growth; three roads to the Tianchi have caused damage to some of the mountain tundra plants; some rare, medicinal and ornamental plants are dug and plucked frequently by visitors; even in some regions, landslides took place; especially the visitors’ littering and some unauthorized buildings have become serious visual pollution. Supervisory organizations and department should take active and effective measures, and the visitors are expected to treasure the environment and tourist resort, and protect important resources of plant.

Approaches to preserve Changbai Mountain
Changbai Mountain is the precious treasure gifted by the Mother Nature. We should cherish it. We should profoundly understand that plants are the physical protection of the nature; animals are human being’s friends; fresh water is the fountain of our lives. However, people tend to talk more than real action in terms of environmental protection.
As a primary school pupil, how can I protect our home garden, the Changbai Mountain? I think environment protection should be done by everyone and started from such trivial matters as:
1. protecting our surrounding environment, keeping it clean, never littering, and caring for flowers and trees;
2. protecting our surrounding environment, setting up “juniors’ environmental protection post” to plant trees for controlling the land desertification and expanding the area of green lands;
3. stopping deforestation, protecting vegetation, carrying out windbreak and sand-fixation, protecting wild animals, and developing and utilizing the water resource scientifically and rationally;
4. promotion widely the protection/conservation regulation, publicizing the protection methods, mobilizing everybody to participate in the force of Changbai Mountain protectors.
Only by putting our joint effects to supervise and protect our environment, can we make our home more beautiful for tomorrow.
