Overview of sceneries
Changbai Mountain is a dormant volcano. Its unique geographical structure presents over 30 amazing attractions well-known both at home and abroad. As affected by the vertical changes of the mountain topography, Changbai Mountain forms 4 landscape zones from Temperate Zone to Frigid Zone as the height increases, as if it answers a description, “A mountain witnesses four distinct seasons, and a 10 mile distance sees a different weather”. Such natural and colorful vertical landscape zones are really rare in world.
The famous Changbai Mountain Tianchi (the Lake of Heaven), together with waterfalls, hot springs, valleys and gorges, underground forest, lava forest, grand alpine garden, underground river, virgin forest, cloud & mist and ice and snow, makes a gorgeous landscape for tourists.

1、Tianchi (Pool of Heaven)
At a higher elevation, the climate on the Changbai Mountain Tianchi (the Lake of Heaven) changes a lot. Fierce wind, torrential rain and heavy snow are commonplace. The winter lasts for 10 months here and the lake keeps frozen for 6 months. When the wind scale reaches to 5, the lake wave can rise as high as 1 meter, sometimes, even higher than 1 meter. Such unpredictable climate, like imaginary scenery, adds endless mystery and unique feature to Changbai Mountain Tianchi.
２、Waterfall
Changbai Waterfall, pouring down from Tianchi, has the biggest fall among all volcanic lake waterfalls in the world. There is no one who has been to Changbai Mountain wasn’t amazed seeing the spectacular, cascading and powerful Changbai Waterfall. It is at north side of Tianchi with a height of 68 meters. The high mountain and abrupt slope make the water rush down with loud sound like thunders. At the first look, it just like a ladder to heaven, and then also like white silk ribbons flow down from the sky. Under which, there is a 20 meter deep pool shaped by falling water.
３、Gorge

| The cliffs on both sides of the gorge are extremely precipitous. In years of weathering and ablation, the periglacial rock pillars in the valley have been carved into various spectacular wonders. |
４、Hot spring

| Most of these hot springs’ temperature is over 60℃ in all four seasons. When you put eggs into the springs, they will be done in just a few seconds. | In the hot spring groups distributed in a thousand square meters of ground, some spring holes are as small as a finger hole. The shining colors and rising steam are the delight to tourists’eyes. |
