Kovalam Beach, Kerala
Situated on the Malabar Coast, is a small village of Kovalam with its beautiful beaches. Kovalam literally means a grove of coconut trees and true to the name, the coconut trees along the beaches gives it a ravishing look. The beaches of Kovalam can be divided into three parts. The southern most beach, the middle beach called hawah and the most popular the Lighthouse Beach
Kovalam beach is ideal for, swimming, surfing and skiing. One can swim in the shallow blue water and have a sunbath in the exotic tropical sun. In the evening the quiet atmosphere of the Kovalam beachside is enlivened by Kathakali performances, the classical dance of Kerala. Presently, Kovalam is not only a beach resort, but also a Yoga and health center.
