History of Kakuro

History of Kakuro
Kakuro is a Japanese mathematical logic puzzle that is similar to sudoku. The name Kakuro originates from the Japanese Kasan Kuroso. Kakuro was created in the 1960's. Kakuro combines the words addition and across. It is believed that kakuro was created by a Japanese business man by the name of McKee Kaji.
Cross Sums
Even though it is thought that Kakuro originated in Japan, that's not entirely true. Kakuro actually originated in the USA. Before it was known as Kakuro, it was named Cross Sums. The very first Cross Sums created was in the 1950's by Dell Magazines. The reason for which it is tough that Kakuro was created in Japan is because it has become much more popular in Japan than it is in America. In 2005, England continued making the puzzles but changed the name Kakro into Kakuro.
