Seireitei

The name Seireitei comes from the well known anime series Bleach, in which Seireitei is in the center of Soul Society, which has a castle like form, where the majority of the residents are shinigami (spirits).

The club is divided into 8 squads. This idea came from Bleach as well, the shinigami from Seireitei being divided into 13 squads which are leaded by a taichou(captain) and a fuku-taichou(vice-captain).

The club squads are:
Horror squad, History squad, Love squad, Magic squad, Sci-Fi squad, Ghibli squad, Fighting squad, Sexy squad

A stepping stone

Seireitei is the first and only official, nongovernmental organization from Romania that is aimed towards the otaku community.

This club is situated in Cluj-Napoca, that has its headquarters in a Japanese tea house, Yume (which means "dream") The club was the main idea, the tea house being just the next step.

Both the tea house and the club have been founded on the 10th of May 2007. There have been a lot of organized events, related to the Japanese culture, that are unique in their own way, which we will present further on.

When you enter the tea house you must take off your shoes, or put on some special plastic bags made to fit on your shoes (which is traditional to the Asian culture, especially in Japan).

Interviews with otakus

Ioan: Hello. Can you tell me your name and occupation?
Oana V.: Hello. I'm Oana Vlad and I teach Japanese.
Ioan: What are your favorite anime and manga series?
Oana V.: My favorite anime is "Bokura ga ita",and my favorite manga is "Blade of the immortal".
Ioan: When did you become interested in Japanese culture and how come?
Oana V: In the 11th grade, by chance. I had heard that there were Japanese courses at the Musashino center and I went there to see what it was about, but then I was really caught up in it.
Ioan: What does Japan mean to you?
Oana V: A place that must be seen. The ultimate thing, if you want to put it this way.
Ioan: Any other "Japan-related" things about you?
Oana V: I dream about Japan, does that count?
