The Trade Activities
Because of the very distinguish location of Port Said city as the entrance of the Suez Canal where all huge ships and containers which is full with all kinds of goods, also Port Said is a cross way for all traders coming from Africa, Asia and Europe all these factors made Port Said ideal for trade activities, trading became the main job for most of the people in the city, where ever you go you can see people standing in big or small shops, if they can't afford to by a shop they could build a small boutique or even stand in the street with a box full of any kind of goods. In port Said there are two major streets where you can find most of the box sellers El-Togary and El-Hamedy streets which are still the main target for all shoppers who seeks for excellent type of goods with low prices. There is also other two streets where you can find much sophisticated goods El-Gomhoria and El-Tlateeny. A new mall for famous brands is being built now in Tarh El-Bahr street where you can find so many shops for cloths and antiques.
Tourism Activities
In north Port Said can see the Mediterranean see, from the east there is The Suez Canal that means shores and beaches to spend beautiful time on vacations. Most of the people in Port Said chose to go to beaches because it doesn't coast them much. At the past people used to have umbrellas and beach chairs so they don't have to rent it when they go to beach, others rent it and spend the whole day they also used to make sandwiches and snacks.
Now a days there are clubs built on beaches with cafeterias and present various services including swimming pools, food and drinks, parties at night in special concussions such as Sham El-Neseem and other feasts.
Big hotels now exist in Port Said such as Helnan, Sonests and Al-Batros.
