Causes of North American Hunger

There are lots of causes for American hunger. The American hunger is caused by these problems. People lose their jobs and then they can not pay for their house or cannot pay for food. Then, maybe the mortgage cost more and if they need two jobs and if they get fired from one job then they can't pay for another. Also, when people can not pay for transportation any more, they sell their car or truck, then they can't go to work or get paid so they get fired or they don't get paid as much. Last, when the parents have kids and are poor, the kids grow up poor without an education, or shelter so the kids that turn to adults are poor from the start. Another cause is that of single parent families. One less income= less money= hunger. The families have to earn at least $16/hour for a small family home. The pay must be higher for food and housing, so there may not be enough to "make ends meet". That is the causes for North American hunger.

Effects of North American hunger

These are the effects of North American hunger. Over 9 percent of elderly people 65 and older are in poverty. They do not have enough retirement money to have a normal and comfortable life. Then when they are about halfway through their retirement, the elderly realize that they don't have enough to live off of. They soon have to get a job which can be more challenging for them or a backbreaking job. These are the states that are in the worst economy: Mississippi, New Mexico, Texas, Arkansas, Maine, South Carolina, Georgia, Kansas, Oklahoma, and Missouri. However, the group with the highest poverty rate is children. How is that so? Well, that is because all over the world, there are two adults with 1,2,3,4, etc. children. Then, when the adults are poor, more children are poor.

Solutions for North American Hunger

North American hunger is a smaller issue than in most countries since our definition of hunger is different than others. The probable solution for U.S. hunger is to base income on family size, because as was said in Causes, the American issue is family size and income. Some families that are "small" need $16/hour so the needs are higher in order to survive properly. Therefore, if the income was based on family size/ marital status(married or non), the families would have what they need.
