Singaporean Identity: SINGAPOREAN FOOD

Food
They say we are what we eat. Singaporeans certainly subscribe to this maxim, with many of us just "living to eat". We are certainly lucky to be living in what many describe as a eating paradise.
With Singapore's multi-ethnic make-up, it is no wonder that this is reflected in the local cuisine. Walk into any hawker centre or food court and you will find stalls selling anything from "Rice and Dishes" to "Korean Cuisine".
Many are undecided about Singapore's national dish, but popular choices such as Chilli Crab and Hainanese Chicken Rice have been put forward.
