History

Athletics was first practiced in Ancient Greece,during the Panathenaic Games and Phytic Games, and at the Olymphics. In the 19th Century,Atlethics becomes a sport in England.In 1896,at the first edition of the Olymphic Games in Athens,Athletics is introduced as a sport in the competition's schedule,and it remains present during all editions of the Olymphic Games.In 1912 it is founded the International Federation for Amateur Athletics.

Dita Constantina was born on the 23 January 1970, Turburea, Gorj, known as Pusa Dita, was handed in the Polyvalent Hall Complex COSR from Izvorani " The National Sports Award" for 2008. Awarded with the Olympic gold in the challange of sacrifice and persevering, that means the marathon, which was the first who crossed the finishing line in "the Bird Nest”, Beijing's jewel,in the ovations that only respect towards such performance may rouse, she received the majority of the granted votes by the representatives of MTS and COSR. The fact that approximately two hours,with the perseverance of Constantina, the name of our country has returned spectaculous in the memory of the connected world in a incredible race, difficulty and significance of the classical 42,195 km race, even when she was recorded the victory ,at 38 years old, it was given precedence to athletes trained by Valentin Tomescu. So, Pusa outrun in a symbolic hierarchy the other Romanian women who have climbed the highest step of the podium premiere from China: judo-Alina Dumitru, gymnastics- Sandra Izbasa, rowing- Georgeta Damian si Viorica Susanu.

Advantages-Disadvantages

Recommended especially for children who temperamentally have more energy, athletics can bring in children more than other sports the desire of competing. Stimulates circulation, breath and body oxygenation. It develops the thoracic box and favours a good breath, allowing the body to be fully oxygenated. It is the ideal preparation for the exercise of all sports.It develops flexibility and endurance,it helps the coordinations of the muscles , balances the nervous system. Although athletics is an excellent sport for development and maintenance it has its own disadvantagesThe risk of hurting yourself never disappears, some injuries can be quite serious and they don`t allow the sequel of this sport.
