History

Tennis is a sport played between two players (single) or between two teams of two players (double). The players use a racket to hit a rubber ball covered with felt,over the fillet.The ball has to reach the ground on the opponent side.Native in England, in late 19th Century,tennis was spread first in the world of English, especially in the world of people with a very good state. Tennis is now an Olympic sport and is played regardless of material state, age, in many countries on the Globe.It is known that beside adopting the "tie-break", its rules have remained unchanged from 1890.

Rafael "Rafa" Nadal Parera, born on the 3rd of June 1985, is a Spanish tennis player trained by his uncle Toni Nadal. Today, he is the first in the World’s ATP Competitions. He won five Grand Slam tournaments, winning during the period 2006-2008 four times the tennis tournament at Roland Garros and in 2008 the Wimbledon tournament. Nadal is unbeaten in the French tournament, winning all 28 matches played so far. Rafael Nadal holds the male record for the longest series of consecutive victories on the same surface of the open area, in the period April 2005-March 2007 winning all 81 matches played on cinder. He won The Wimbledon Tournament in 2008 after he defeated the former Number 1,Roger Federer in 5 sets.He is the only Spaniard who won the Roland Garros and Wimbledon tournament in the same year (2008), and also the gold medal at the Olympics, becoming the World’s Number 1.

Advantages - Disadvantages

Practicing a sport is very important. Like many other sports, tennis offers many benefits to those who practice it.Firstly,it offers an enviable physical condition, speed in running, agility, ability to react quickly, good spirit of observation.Mentaly,it helps us to develop fair-play,and so we understand that sport is not only victory.It also learns us that if we want to have any results we must work hard.As a weakness, we can talk about the injuries that could have negative effects in the sportive activity. An example may be even Rafael Nadal, who has had knees and ankles problems. These complications have led to the withdrawal for a period,for a surgery and for a recovery.Theese kind of complications can lead to slowing tennis practice for medical reasons. Other disadvantages may occur after an injury that was not treated, luxations, tension, twists, but also may appear back problems, which were the reason for many sportivs who withdrawn from the world of sports.
