Most Popular Pets in America

The most popular pets in America include dogs, cats, birds, fish, hamsters, guinea pigs, mice, and rats. The most popular dog breeds are Labradors (yellow, black or chocolate), Yorkshire Terriers and German Shepherds. The most popular cat breeds are Alley cats, Himalayan or Persians and Maine Coons.

Dogs can become very attached and protective of their owners and are known as the most social of any household pet. This makes dogs a great choice as a non-human companion.

Cats take care of themselves, which makes them a little easier than dogs, and very popular for that reason. Cats groom themselves after eating, being in rain or snow, or after a fight with another animal. A cat will take a few moments to lick a paw and use it to wipe it's face, ears, and other hard-to-reach places.

In 2007, the percent of households owning dogs was 37.2%, the number of households owning dogs was 43,021,000 and the average number owned per household was 1. The percent of households owning cats was 32.4%, the number of households owning cats was 37,460,000 and the average number owned was 2. The percent of households owning birds was 3.9%, the number of households owning birds was 4,453,000.

Most Popular Pets in Japan

Some of the most popular pets in Japan are dogs, cats, birds, ferrets, rabbits, tortoises, fish, and squirrels. But dogs and ferrets are the most popular among them all.

The most popular type of dogs in Japan are the Shiba Inu (originated in Japan), and the yellow, brown or black Labrador Retriever. The most popular cat types are mixed breeds along with the American Short Hair. The most popular type of pet fish is the Goldfish and the most popular pet bird is the Canary.

In Japan it is also possible to rent a pet, for the hour, day, or even a week! That would be a good way to try out a pet before you make a commitment of owning one. It would also be a way to enjoy an animal if you do not have the time or money to keep one.

Birds are very popular in Japan because in Japan most people live in small apartments. Birds do not require the space inside or outside that a larger animal such as a dog would need. This is also true of ferrets and other small animals.

Most Popular Pets in Mexico

The most popular pets in Mexico are parakeets, rabbits, dogs, cats, fish, and other rodent types. Out of all of these, parakeets are the most popular.

Parakeets come in a wide range of beautiful colors and they are affectionate and playful. There are many types of parakeets, but the most common is the Budgerigar or Budgie, for short. They live from 10-15 years and they offer the companionship of a parrot, without the commitment of fifty years or more. Budgies make the ideal first bird for children and new bird owners.

Rabbits are social animals. With gentle handling, they are generally quite tame. They are also playful and entertaining to watch. Rabbits often form very close bonds with their owners. They can be litter trained and they respond well to gentle training (try a clicker). Rabbits can be trained to do special behaviors and tricks. Rabbits kept indoors with proper care can be expected to live around 9-12 years.
I hope you’ve learned a lot about the most common pets in Mexico and if you don’t have one of the most common pets, hopefully you have a pet that you love!
