History of Histria
On the lake Sinoe, in the Northern part of Istria peninsule present in Dobrogea, behind more than 2600 years ago was build Histria city, founded by Greek merchants and navigators, which were located in Bay (for once) Halmyris in order to trade.
But gulf Halmyris began to be stalled with alluvial river, closing out the sand on the Black Sea.An invasion which almost completely destroyed the fortress, forced the inhabitants to leave. Slowly, slowly, Histria was being deserted and people began to forget names ad the place too.
Histria, the oldest urban settlement in the country, was brought to light since 1914, the digging of Vasile Parvan left.
