Bangladesh has a relatively small land for a very large population. Of the 128 million inhabitants about 50 million have less than 14 years.
Although in recent years there has been a stable rate of economic growth around 5%, Bangladesh still lives strong in poverty also caused the high concentration of people (almost one per square meter) and a sudden urbanization and growing steadily .
About half of the gross domestic product is generated by the services sector and yet two-thirds of the population today works in agriculture, mostly subsistence source because rice is the only major product of production and export.

Of the nearly 50 million children aged 0 to 14 years, about 30 million live in poverty, without the possibility of access to education or basic medical care.
For women, marriage is often the only source of income and 58% married between 16 and 18 years.
UNICEF in Bangladesh to act in the forefront in emergencies caused by floods, also works on regular development programs with specific attention to the important problem of child labor.
More than 6 million children are the workers employed in conditions of exploitation.
