The Egyptian educational is divided into three stages:

  1. Basic Education
    • Primary Stage
    • Preparatory Stage
  2. Secondary Education
  3. Post-Secondary education

There are both private and public institutions of higher education in Egypt. Public higher education is free in Egypt, and Egyptian students only pay registration fees. Private education is a little more expensive. Major universities include Cairo University (100,000 students), Alexandria University, Ain Shams University, and the 1,000 year-old Al-Azhar University, while the Université Française d'Égypte, American University in Cairo and Arab Academy for Science and Technology and Maritime Transport are of the leading private universities.

Egypt is very safe, you can walk down the street simply at 3 am and not to worry, and if ever something bad happened you will find many Egyptians around you offering to help or give you a ride or something
