Social Survey
We conducted a social survey to find out the public's opinion on the issue of doping and also to test their knowledge on some aspects of doping. There were a total of 10 questions and 54 respondents.
Some of the survey questions are reflected below:

Analysis:
From our results, 16 respondents felt that doping is not widespread in modern times. This may be the case as they are not aware of the modern situation in sports. Fortunately, 18 respondents felt that doping is very widespread as they may have linked this situation to the Beijing Olympics or any other sporting events whose doping cases they have witnessed

Analysis of results:
The 2 options, ‘Increased aggressiveness...’ and ‘not able to sit or stand for a long time...’ are the correct options. From the bar chart, we can see that most of the respondents, almost more than 50%, understand the effects of doping. The other respondents do not have sufficient knowledge of doping as they chose the wrong options. This further emphasizes the purpose of our project to educate and heighten awareness of this topic and the dangers doping can do to your body.

Analysis:
From this table, we can clearly see the difference between the people who are knowledgeable on doping and those who are not. Almost 70% of all our respondents chose the answer blood doping which is technically correct. As far we know, there is no such thing as fat doping, nerve doping or acid doping. However, there are still some respondents who chose those answers which dawns on us the seriousness of this topic. We think that the government should take action and educate the public on this topic.
Analysis:
Slightly more than half of our respondents chose the correct answer ‘ WADA’. This goes to show the importance of educating the public as from the table, we can see that numerous respondents have no idea who started to set up doping tests. From this, we can see that the public’s knowledge on doping is very low, only those who are conscientious enough would bother to look up for those information.
The following are the opinion-based open-ended question. Only the 3 best answers for each question are listed below:
- "Awareness should be raised, stricter rules and punishments should be implemented and more tests should be conducted"
- "Have more mandatory drug tests for athletes and restrict the amount of materials available to drug producers"
- "Increase the research done on doping. I heard from a documentary that only 10% of the dopers are caught, because of the lack of technology to catch those dopers"
- "Even if they get away with doping, they will not feel very honourable winning the gold medal as they knew they won it using underhand methods"
- "Pathetic way of enhancing performance, honest example of cowardice in the face of adversity"
- "I think it's quite rampant nowadays, especially since many drugs can be gotten at cheap prices"
- "They take up doping to bring pride to their country and to avoid any humiliation when they lose"
- "Many athletes dope because they feel the pressure of the competition, and they are encourage sometimes by their coaches"
- "I feel that they are people with low self-esteem as they feel that they always lose and will never win without doping. This way, they would win and feel happy but often, things don't turn out as planned"
