Cells make up your whole body. We are made up of about 100,000,000,000,000 cells. Here is some information about some of the organelles inside a cell.
The cell membrane is the outline of the cell. The cell membrane’s job is to keep the cell separate and to keep the cell safe. In the cell membrane there are a lot of different kinds of molecules.
A ribosome is made up of 2 pieces or subunits. They are named 60-s, which the larger subunit, and 40-s, which is the smaller subunit. The 2 subunits secure onto the mRNA and begin the protein
process.
The mitochondria has 2 membranes. The outer membrane surrounds the mitochondria. The inner membrane folds over a lot of times and that extends the surface of the mitochondria. This helps the
mitochondria get as much work as it can done.
There are 2 types of fluid in the cell; cytoplasm, the fluid that fills the cell, and nucleoplasm, the fluid that is found in side the nucleus. The organelles float in the cytoplasm. Waste products can be dissolved. The nucleoplasm holds the chromatin and nucleolus inside the nucleus.
Nucleoplasm isn’t always in the nucleus because when the cell splits the nucleus disintegrates and the nucleoplasm is released. After the nucleus reforms the nucleoplasm fills the nucleus again.
Lysosomes have enzymes that are made by the cell. The purpose of the lysosome is to break down waste products and digest food. Lysosmes do their job as soon as the cell eats food. Once the food is in side the cell the lysosmes attach to the food and release enzymes. The enzymes
break down complex materials. If the cell is really hungry, but there is no food in the cell, the lysosmes do their job and break down the cell’s organelles for nutrients.
