Who created the sn0wboard?
In an eighth grade shop class a young man Tom Sims invented a ski board. Now days they call it a snowboard. In 1979 Jake Burton made a ski board and called it a snowboard. He made his board out of fiberglass. Then he invented bindings to help control the snowboard. Day after day snowboards became more popular.
At first the ski resorts would not let snowboards in the resorts. These days though only a few ski resorts won’t let people snowboard. In the year 2000 there were 4 million snowboarders. In 2007 about 6.8 million people were snowboarders.
It is hard to say who actually "invented" the first snowboard. People would have always figured out how to slide down a hill on some sled, thus it would be unfair to point out one specific person, who came up with "the first" snowboard. Most people think that it was definitely Tom Sims.
