Question 1: Do you think robots are important to humankind? Give an argument.
Anca, Catalin, Carmen:We all agreed that robots are important to humankind, as they can accomplish a vast majority of tasks and they can work with sharp precision in various fields. An example would be in the domain of industry where robots are used for making cars and for tasks like making tiny objects, which are very tireing for the human eye. Also they are used in medicine as an instrument of precision, which helps doctors operate more safely, and with an accurate precision. To sum up, robots are are very important to humankind, by helping us evolve in diferent domains and making our work easier and faster.
Question 2: How do you see the world developing in relation with the evolution of robotics?
Anca, Catalin, Carmen: As we saw during the last 20 years, robots and computers have evolved very fast. If we speak about the relation between humankind and robots, we can see that robots have helped us evolve in different domains, but if it were not for the humans, the robots wouldn`t have evolved so quickly. So, for the past 20 years the world has developed with the help of the robots, and in the future, we will see robots in every house helping us, making our life easier. Our duties such as cleaning, washing the dishes will be made only by robots, so we can say that the world and the robots will develop in a peaceful and equal manner. In conclusion, we insist upon the statement that the world wouldn`t had evolved if it weren`t for the robots.
Question 3: Would you prefer to do your own work or to let a robot do it for you?
Anca:I would definitely prefer to do my own work, because you get no satisfaction if a robot does it for you, even if it's about a work I don't like,as washing or cleaning up.
Catalin:I like to do my own work, but some times we need a robot to do it for us. But we know that today humans work with robots, so I think that we should do our work in equal measure with the robots.
Carmen: I prefer to do my own work, because if a robot would always do my work, I wouldn`t find any challenges in life, I would do nothing and feel I have no purpose on this world.
Question 4: Do you keep yourself informed about robotics?
Anca: No, not really, because I'm not very interested in this domain, but I do hear pieces of information about robotics and I find some of them quite interesting.
Catalin: No, I don’t keep myself informed about robotics, as I am not a fan of this domain.
Carmen: Yes, I do like to keep myself informed about robotics, especially the ones related to artificial intelligence and the latest information about humanoid robots. I also found interesting industrial robots and those little BEAM robots. I`m not that passionate to even work to build one, but I like to read and get myself informed about them.
Question 5: What kind of robot would you like to posses? Why?
Anca: I would like to posess some robots that could help me do the housework,in case I need this or do it for me when I can't.
Catalin: Personally I would like to have a domestic robot to help me do my chores in the house like washing dishes and also I would like to have a toy robot for my entertainment. I wish I could have also an industrial robots, not sure what kind, but because is making money with no high cost and no human work, and because I consider robots more accurate and they work faster without asking for brakes and without being tired.
Carmen: I would like some little BEAM robots for my entertainment, and also a robot that can play the piano, so he can sing for me anytime I want, because I don`t know how to play the piano, and I don`t have time to learn for now.
