One of the most important aspect of going green is recycling.

Recycling is easy. After attempting to reduce the amount of waste you produce, just recycle everything possible. Compost what you can, and recycle all the paper, bottles (glass and plastic) as well as aluminum and tin cans.

In 2001 the United States produced 286 million tons of household waste; this doesn’t include commercial and industrial waste. Of that, 91 million tons were recycled. This is about 32 percent, which has drastically gone up since 1990 (8.5% was recycled) Each person, per year, creates about four and a half pounds of trash a day. This means an average family of four would create around three tons of waste per year.
