CoolHistory on Skateboarding Cool

This is a short brief history on the extreme sport of skateboarding. Skateboarding is a very controversial sport because some people think it is a crime and a waste of time. Other people think that it is a way for kids to stay off the streets and stay out of trouble. In some places skateboarding is banned because it destroys stairs, benches, and sidwalks. Also in some places skaters can be arrested for skateing on public and private property. In Ohaha.Nebrascka if you get caught by police you can get up to three months in jail and a one thuosand dollar fine. This is why skatepark are built but sometimes it cost too much money.

Skateboarding frist got it's start in the late 1960's but back it wasn't as big of a sport as it is now. The sport was started in Santa Monica, Califronia but to the Z-boys it was known as dogtown. The three main skaters were Tony Alva, Jay Adams, and Stacy Peralta. All of these skaters changed the sport of skateboarding forever around the world. But they weren't skaters to start with. So later on they got interseted in skateboarding but, back it cost too much money so they use to be made out of "2x4" and if you had a sister you can rip off the bottom skates. After a while skateboards started to take the shape we know today.
