The spacecraft named SpaceShipTwo is scheduled to be ready for commercial space travel in 2010, however, a recent explosion at Scaled Composites may delay the projected time for the spacecraft to be completed. The needed 50-100 test flights did not begin as expected in June of 2008, but will commence in 2009. Virgin Galactic has moved back its projected inaugaral flight from 2010 to 2011. If you wish to pay the $200,000US and want to book a seat, go to Virgin Galactic's website: www.virgingalactic.com and book a flight. If you book now you will be at least 200th on the list. Virgin Galactic has a training program of only 3 days and you will be in space and weightless for 3-6 minutes. The spacecraft reaches and surpasses the Internationally defined boundary of space (100km) and cruises up to a height of about 110km. The price of a ticket to space should decrease over time eventually to around $20,000.
