The Bald Eagle
Bald Eagle is birds of prey. This means that they eat other animal. They have very good eyesight which they use to spot there pray far below. Bald Eagles build huge nests called eyries. A pair of eagles uses their same nests, making bigger each year. An eagle’s nest can weight more than 1,000 pounds, or the weight of 6 adult humans. Bald Eagle has a large hooked beak. They use the hooked to rip there pray to pieces and tear chunks of meat and swallow. Bald Eagle lives for about 25 years in the wild, but up to 50 years in captivity. Young bald eagle is completely brown. The white headed feather do not appear until the bird is 4 years old.
