Joseph Biden was born November 20, 1942 in Pennsylvania. At 11 years old, Joe Biden and the rest of the Biden family moved to Delaware due to a decline in the Pennsylvanian economy. He has three brothers and sisters. Their names are James, Francis, and Valerie. An interesting fact to know about Joseph Biden is that he had a problem with stuttering but was able to learn to speak without a stutter.

Later in life, Biden graduated from The University of Delaware. He also graduated from the Syracuse University College of Law. Joe Biden was elected as senator at age 29 and was one of the youngest senators to be elected. A few weeks after he was elected, Senator Biden’s first wife, Neilia Hunter, and their daughter, Naomi, died in a car accident. His two sons, Joseph Beau and Robert Hunter were badly hurt in this car accident. Senator Biden was by the side of his sons every day until they got better. He began to travel 90 minutes daily from Delaware to Washington DC to perform his job as a senator.

In 1977, Joe Biden married Jill Jacobs. Jill has been an educationalist involved in the Delaware school system for more than two decades. Together they had a daughter named Ashley. Their family had been successful. Presently, Beau is Delaware’s attorney general. Hunter is an attorney too.  Ashley became a social worker.

As a senator, Joe Biden eventually became Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.  In this position, he tackled the issue of climate change. He also put forward the Violence against Women Act. At one point, Biden was involved in the INCC (International Narcotics Control Caucus).
He was also influential in writing legislation to put in place an agency headed by a Drug Czar. This organization administers strategies to limit the use of illegal drugs in the U.S.

Joe Biden has become the 47th Vice-President of the United States of America. Vice-President Biden is a member of the Democratic Party. Joe Biden has been committed to politics since January 3, 1973.
